David Garbett is a Cinematographer born in Auckland, New Zealand. David began his career in the film industry working first as a camera assistant, then camera operator and Steadicam operator, working on projects in New Zealand and internationally.

David has built up an impressive body of work with a diverse range of projects, including feature films, large scale TV series, documentaries, commercials, and music videos.

Some of Garbett's most notable work includes the recently released feature film ‘Evil Dead Rise’ which has received wide critical acclaim since it premiered at the SXSW film festival 2023; the 5th instalment from the Evil Dead world has become the most successful at the box-office, grossing over $150m(USD) worldwide.

David was lead Cinematographer on the popular, Emmy Award winning Netflix television series "Sweettooth”. David was nominated as a finalist in the highly prestigious ASC awards (one hour non-commercial) in 2022 for episode 2 - ‘Big Man’.

David continues to work on exciting new projects and is highly regarded by his colleagues and peers in the industry.
